Turning “Revenue Sucking February” into “Profit Generating CANuary”
Kansas City, MO, USA – January 25, 2021: Renner Garage Door has announced an internal contest to its staff, with a goal to help overcome an industry-wide challenge for all garage door companies – The annual “Suck the Least” February contest.
Gene Renner always said, “The garage door industry is never as bad as it seems in February or as good as it seems in October.” Wise words from the founder of the company, established in 1956.
The purpose of the contest is to soften the blow that February creates for the company. A blow that the whole industry experiences.
The objective is to get all employees involved at some level. The contest is meant to be a fun, high-energy exercise and a celebration of what the team can accomplish when everyone comes together. The competition is inspired by a 2008 sports-comedy movie featuring a 1970s basketball team playing to win a fictitious “MegaBowl” game.
The winner of the annual “Suck the Least” contest is not determined by volume. It is based on which branch can make the largest percentage impact at their respective locations. The winning trophy is presented to the branch location that improves its February bottom line the most compared to its previous year’s February bottom line.
