America\u2019s oldest family-owned garage door company serving both wholesale & retail markets!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1955<\/strong> \u2013 Gene Renner works as a commissioned salesman for Dierks Lumber Company in Kansas City. Dierks begins selling Ro-Way garage doors by Rowe Mfg. Co. of Galesburg, IL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1956<\/strong> \u2013 Gene partners with his father, Elmer Renner, to sell garage doors as R&R Garage Door. Gene\u2019s wife, Freida Renner, keeps the books. With sales of only $65,000 in his first year, Gene plans to get out of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1957<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A destructive tornado in Kansas City spurs many door sales, interrupting Gene\u2019s plans to drop the door business. He changes the company\u2019s name to Renner Supply, selling builders hardware and garage doors, installing Ro-Way and Wagner doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1964<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Renner buys a Lincoln Door Clamp from Berry Door of Birmingham, MI, and creates the Delden Manufacturing division in Kansas City, MO with Dick Wright, Harry Link and Elmer Renner as minority partners. Delden is named for Dee Layne, Dennis and Denise; his three children. With the clamp, Delden can make an 8\u00d77 wood door for less than $30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1966<\/strong> \u2013 Gene and Dick Wright form Renner-Wright Corporation in St. Louis, making garage doors with a Lincoln Door Clamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1969<\/strong> \u2013 Delden begins producing fiberglass and aluminum garage doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1971<\/strong> \u2013 Renner-Wright becomes Delden of St. Louis, as Dick Wright sells his share to Renner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1980<\/strong> \u2013 Delden buys a rollformer and begins producing its own commercial steel doors. Renner is elected president of the National Association of Garage Door Manufacturers (NAGDM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1981<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Delden\/Renner celebrate 25 years in business! Delden of Iowa is formed (owned by Dennis Renner, Gene\u2019s son).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1982<\/strong> \u2013 With Renner as President, Delden, Amarr (Winston-Salem, NC), and Ankmar (Denver, CO) form the Garage Door Group (GDG) to make residential raised-panel steel garage doors in Kansas City. GDG buys Roll-Easy Springs of Kansas City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1986<\/strong> \u2013 Elmer Renner dies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1989<\/strong> \u2013 GDG moves to Lawrence, KS; to a plant built and owned by the Brenner family of Amarr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1991<\/strong> \u2013 Renner Partners with Rick Vinson to open Delden Mfg. of Illinois, near Joliet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1992<\/strong> \u2013 Gene Renner purchases Harry Link\u2019s and Dick Wright\u2019s shares of Delden. Renner opens a Delden distribution center in Springfield, MO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1994<\/strong> \u2013 Amarr and Delden buy Ankmar\u2019s share in GDG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1997<\/strong> \u2013 Amarr buys Delden Mfg. of Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1998<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Amarr purchases Delden\u2019s share in GDG. Delden begins buying door sections from Amarr to componentize and fabricate complete doors through various vendors. With Delden private labeling Amarr door sections and using all premium components for track, hardware and springs, the \u201cExperience the Quality\u201d branding takes hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2000<\/strong> \u2013 Delden builds a new plant in Kansas City with 84,000 square feet of room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2003<\/strong> \u2013 Gene Renner retires. His daughter, Denise, becomes President of Delden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2006<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Delden\/Renner celebrate 50 years in business! Rick Vinson becomes co-owner for Delden of Iowa. Delden opens Central Missouri distribution center in Camdenton, MO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2012<\/strong> \u2013 Denise Dahms (Gene Renner\u2019s daughter) has continued to fulfill the Delden tradition with customer service, an honest approach and good old fashioned hard work. She remains open to new ideas and more efficient strategies to keep Delden Mfg. a staple in the Midwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2016<\/strong> \u2013 Delden announces increase of available products and manufacturers. The move provides Delden dealers with additional options for sectional doors, rolling doors, high-performance doors, loading dock equipment and specialty products. Gene Renner passes away at the age of 88.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017<\/strong> \u2013 Delden announces expansion of \u201cYour Home Your Design\u201d custom collection with the DeltrimTM<\/sup> line of steel overlay doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2018<\/strong> \u2013 Renner Supply Company re-brands as Renner Garage Door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022<\/strong> \u2013 Denise Dahms receives the IDA (International Door Association) Heritage Award recognizing individuals who have contributed to the well-being and heritage of the garage door and access systems industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023<\/strong> \u2013 The first boxed garage door is produced out of the Springfield location in February. This was the beginning of Delden\u2019s Quick-StockTM<\/sup><\/em> custom packaged program. Unfortunately during this same year, Denise Dahms passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65 in August. William Dahms, Denise\u2019s son, becomes president. Brad Dodson, Denise\u2019s nephew, becomes vice-president. In a joint statement from Dahms and Dodson, \u201cWe have been preparing for this direction for the last five years \u2013 in many ways, most of our adult lives. We just didn\u2019t expect it to happen this soon. We have great confidence and trust in our management team, as we all work to continue the legacy of our leader, Denise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025<\/strong> \u2013 Delden launches a new website with login access so customers can have full visibility and able to interact with their account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Delden has over 130 employees through four branch locations that distribute garage door products throughout the Midwest. Door center locations include Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and Central Missouri. All branches are accompanied by Renner Garage Door installation divisions. Gene Renner credited his earlier success to his management team and expressed confidence that Delden has a strong management team for the future. Gene is fondly remembered as the \u201ccore of the company.” Denise Dahms led with grace, confidence, and a no nonsense approach, with love at the forfront. William Dahms and Brad Dodson are grateful for the opportunity to continue building the Delden legacy as 3rd generation owner-operators.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
